Game Hunting Safaris.Com: Where Dreams Meet Adventures

Game Hunting Safaris.Com: Where Dreams Meet Adventures

Chronicles

Everyone loves a vacation and a break from the hustle and associated stresses of adult responsibilities and commitments. This fact is, of course, undeniable. Whether it be fishing, diving, skiing, photographic tours, hiking, or, of course, an Africa hunting trip, there are always many available options.

“Game hunting” is the most popular search for “key phrase” when sitting back and “Googling” a hunting safari. Recent data shows that this phrase, game hunting is searched for on average 14,800 times per month. What does this mean? Thousands of people daily are pondering the benefits of booking a hunting adventure and need a well-deserved vacation!

The goal of a big game hunting trip to Africa is what dreams are made of.

Wait…How Do We Know These Google Statistics?

Game Hunting Safaris.com was established and formed while crocodile hunting in Mozambique. Having spent months booking and planning the hunting safari, Tamlyn and I realized that the hunting safari indeed had some major shortcomings in terms of service levels, client expectations, communication, and delivery.

As with most things in life, there are always areas, often the smallest of things, that can be improved upon which will make a world of difference to what is meant to be a wonderful life experience. In this case, the hunter wants to “come back for more.”

Nothing like a relaxing big game hunting safari to clear away the mental fog and get the brain optimally focused!

When analyzing problem “key points” that we encountered relating directly to this specific hunting safari (before and during), we could identify a few as follows:

  • This hunting safari was, in fact, the second safari we had booked through a booking agent (the other related to Hippo hunting in Namibia). In case you have never been, a hunting safari in Namibia is highly recommended!
  • Until we requested information relating to rifle permits (we were taking a three hundred win-mag over the border from South Africa as this caliber is perfect to penetrate the scull of a monster bull crocodile), we did not even know who the Mozambique outfitter was. There wasn’t any communication from the booking agent right up to a few weeks before the hunting safari was about to commence. We had to email to confirm that the safari was still happening as we had not heard from anyone. Not one e-mail, WhatsApp, Telephone call, Social Media message, pigeon carrying a parcel, nothing at all! Chasing companies for information never gives me that “warm and fuzzy” feeling that we are in capable hands. Anyway, we made contact and sorted out the permits. Mozambique hunting outfitters are “on the ball” so to speak and we did not encounter any issues about rifle permits entering Mozambique.
  • We arrived at Tete International Airport in Mozambique only to meet another outfitter (not the Mozambique outfitter). This was all getting confusing, and we started wondering, exactly “who was who?” Both Tamlyn and I were born and raised in Africa, so we are used to dealing with a few surprises along the way, so we just took it in our stride.
  • A few days into our hunting safari, by some remarkable coincidence, we had the booking agent arrive in person for his crocodile hunting safari (there was an overlap). Me, being my usual self, after a few cold beers, communicated to the booking agent in question that there were a few areas they could improve on to uplift the “game hunting experience” for their clients. My philosophy is always client retention. It makes business sense to maintain an existing client rather than to incur additional costs to source a new one. Let us be honest, African hunts do not come cheaply and even discount hunts cost a pretty penny. I am always thinking, how can we do things better? Much to my amazement, the answer I received was, “Your input is not really valued, as I am too busy booking hunts to concern myself with client service levels.”

I was totally taken aback at this kind of response. At that exact moment, I knew our team could “do it better and improve the overall experience of Africa hunts.”

Game Hunting Safaris.com was born, your go-to gateway and broker for unforgettable African hunting experiences.

On a separate note, whispered to me at the fire that night, it gave Tamlyn much joy to point out to the agent that her Nile Crocodile, was bigger than his, measuring 15.1 feet…Size does count!

Game Hunting Safaris.com: Our Mission

Game Hunting Safaris.com has a world-class dynamic team consisting of lawyers, accountants, public relations experts, conservationists, and professional hunters. Team members have extensively traveled the African continent, hunted dangerous and African plains game, been clients of international outfitters and booking agents, and are also ranch owners. Our aim is for international hunters to enjoy Africa as much as we do. We have it covered from A-Z.

What Does This Mean For The Big Game Hunting Safaris?

  • Booking a big game hunting safari online, for the first time can be a daunting experience and certainly does have its challenges. Booking with outfitters that have never been met, and traveling to remote destinations are obvious potential areas of concern.
  • Game Hunting Safaris.com understands the needs of our clients, who are not only the clients of Game Hunting Safaris, but of the African outfitters.
  • Not all international hunters have the luxury of time to be able to physically attend hunting exhibitions hosted by Safari Club International, Dallas Safari Club, and Houston Safari Club, to name but a few. Game Hunting Safaris.com has relationships with these outfitters and has done the groundwork for the international community, ensuring that our clients have the best African hunts with memories to last a lifetime. We at Game Hunting Safaris.com understand the requirements of a dream game hunting safari.
  • We understand client expectations, we pay for our own African hunts, and know what needs to be done before and after every hunting safari.

The Online Digital Agency Market

Before embarking on this drive to provide dream African hunts to the international market, extensive and comprehensive market research was conducted.

We did have a “chuckle” at some of the sales pitches:

  • Join as a hunter to reveal the outfitter.
  • No Booking Fees.

When I see this type of pitch, I wonder if certain agencies think that the hunting community is uneducated. What does it mean, no booking fee? There is a fee that is incurred by the hunter, where else does working capital come from? It is factored into the game hunting safari price. Maybe not disclosed as a fee but as a commission due the outfitter to the agent to cover and contribute to costs of online marketing. Basic Business 101!

This type of “commission structure” has been in place throughout all the years, from travel agents to airlines. Why hide the fact that there is a remuneration factor when providing a world-class service?

On page one of most hunting safari brokers’ online platforms:

  • How many hunters are registered?
  • How many outfitters are loaded?

This tells us that agencies are chasing volumes at a fee. Consultants, who have never been to Africa, are giving advice and answering online queries. Booking memorable hunting safaris is not about volume, it is about experience, honesty, and the goal of ensuring that hunters enjoy their dream hunt, in every sense.
