Black Wildebeest , also known as the White-Tailed Gnu, is a highly social species that primarily inhabits the open grasslands and savannas
of Southern Africa, particularly in the Eastern Cape. Their behavior is characterized by a strong sense of herd dynamics, with dominant males leading and protecting the group.

Springbok are graceful antelope native to the Eastern Cape. Known for their remarkable agility, Springboks are highly social animals, typically found in large herds, especially during the rainy season. When a Springbok’s hair stands up on its back after being shot, it is typically a reflexive response known as piloerection colloquially known as “Pronking”. This occurs when the muscles at the base of the hair follicles contract, causing the hair to stand upright. It is usually a result of adrenaline release, and is only temporary.
The Blesbok is another fast and wary animal. Blesbok prefer open, slightly arid plains with access to water and are often found in areas with short to medium grasses. They are generally calm and grazing throughout the day, but when threatened, they will flee in a straight line at high speed.
Hunting the Mountain Reedbuck takes you into rugged, hilly terrain, adding a physical challenge to the hunt. These elusive antelopes are masters of blending into their surroundings, often found in rocky outcrops and steep hillsides.
The Impala might be one of the most common animals to hunt in South Africa, but that doesn’t make it any less of a challenge. Known for their incredible agility and speed, Impalas require a hunter to be quick and precise. These animals are constantly on the move, making them a difficult target.
South Africa is not regulated with regards to a specific hunting season and Plains Game Hunts can take place throughout the all year. The cooler months, which run from April to October are preferred. In summer, the temperatures are just to high. The drier months see the grasses being shorter in the veld, and the bush veld not as dense, both of which allows hunters to more easily spot their prey.
The months of November through to February are also the rainy season. Rain showers and bad weather can continue for days in the hotter months.
