This trophy plains game hunt will commence with the hunting party arriving at Hosea Kutako International Airport (WDH) in Windhoek. Due to length of the road transfer to the hunting concession (+- 4 to 5 hours), you may need to overnight in Windhoek depending on the arrival time of your inbound flight. The Hilton Hotel is recommended and has secure facilities for rifle storage, plus a great rooftop bar and pool (plus the breakfasts are great). The Hilton will also arrange your collection/transfers from Hosea Kutako and drop off again for your departing flight . There are many fabulous hotels in Windhoek, so you will be spoiled for choice.

Windhoek offers many popular venues for dining and sampling a few of the local beers and steaks, such as “The Butchers Block”, or ” Joe’s Beer house”. Having hunted in Namibia on numerous occasions and having visited these establishments (more than once), they are highly recommended.

Rifles and Ammunition when Trophy Hunting in Namibia

The Namibian Police have an office outside international arrivals. What does “Dip and Pack” of Trophies Refer to ?

Dip & Pack as it is commonly referred to is the minimum processing requirement that a trophy must undergo in order to prepare for export and shipping. All “body parts” including bones, skull, teeth should be dry and free of any undried pieces  of hide. Hides must be dried to the extent that they look brittle enough to crack when bent and trophies must be packed immediately after treatment.

The Dip and Pack Process Includes:

• Soaking inner cores in boiling water for a minimum period
• Soaking again in a .1% chlorine bleach
• Soaking the inner cores again in a 5% Hydrogen peroxide solution
