Hunting in Cameroon

The hunting concession in the Forests of Cameroon are well known for delivering trophies for species including Bongo, Dwarf/Forest Buffalo, Forest Elephant, Giant Forest Hogs and Forest Sitatunga(also known as the western sitatunga)

The concession is situated in the South Eastern region of Cameroon and the hunting area borders the Lobeke Park with a range stretching more than forty miles, between the Central African Republic and Congo. Hunting safaris in Africa do not get much more remote and wild than this premium location which is accessed via a charter flight from Douala.

While this safari is focused on Dwarf Buffalo and Sitatunga hunting, other unique species are also available and can be added to this safari.

Hunting in Cameroon is challenging, especially considering the hunting conditions and the density of the forests.

The indigenous and famous Pygmy trackers are of excellent quality, born and raised in the forests of Cameroon.

Game hunting will mostly take place of foot. Machans, which are large, elevated platforms placed and constructed on the edges of large clearings may also be utilized.

For this forest hunt, you will need to be in reasonable physical shape. While the hunt is not classified as extreme, the hunter will need to be able to walk and stalk through the thick forest possibly covering a few miles per day.

Climate and Clothing on your Africa Hunting trip

These hunting grounds are typically classified as Tropical Rain Forest. Rain forests cover more than 46% of the national territory in Cameroon.

Travelling to the Cameroon

The international inbound flight will see you arriving in the city of Douala. For the hunt, it is recommended arriving two days before commencement of the safari. On arrival in Douala, you will be transferred to a hotel and overnight. A charter flight to the hunting concession will follow.

A twin engine light aircraft will be used to transport you from Douala to the hunting concession and lodge.

Forest Sitatunga Hunting Methods

Cancelation Policy:
Should the client cancel the hunting safaris six months prior to the commencement date, a full refund will be given, or the hunting dates can be rescheduled. If the hunt is cancelled within six months of the safari, the deposit will be held and will be transferred to the following year as a deposit on a future hunt. If the client chooses not to forward the deposit to the following year, 50% of the deposit will be held as a cancelation fee. If cancelation is within three months of the commencement date, the deposit will be lost completely.

An amount of US$ 19 450 is due within 7 days of making the booking. The balance is due within six months of the commencement of the Africa hunting trip.
