Lake Cahora Bassa, the Perfect Area for Crocodile Hunting!

When it comes to dangerous game hunting in Mozambique, targeting this cold-blooded member of the Dangerous 7, Lake Cahora Bassa is the perfect habitat for this fierce reptile, who is always on the prowl for its next meal.

Crocodiles are responsible for hundreds of human deaths in Mozambique, and these man-eating crocodiles are notorious for their calculating and cold-blooded approach to securing their next target…make sure that it’s not you!

Lake Cahora Bassa is situated in the Tete province, around 80 miles northwest of the city Tete. The lake is approximately 150 miles long and 19 miles wide at its widest point, with the average depth of the lake being about 69 feet. The maximum depth of Lake Cahora Bassa is around 515 feet.

This massive lake has five basins and numerous islands, providing a rich habitat for various animals, fish, and reptile species including hippos, crocodiles, sable, elephants, and kudu, to name but a few. The lake is a renowned fishing area, allowing hunters to indulge in some great tiger fishing, amongst other species, in the area. The lake and its surrounding areas offer a rich and diverse ecosystem, making it the perfect place to indulge in some exceptional dangerous game hunting.

Crocodiles of 14ft and up are the norm, so be prepared to spot some monster trophies while scoping for the perfect specimen on Lake Cahora Bassa. Motor boats are used to search for a trophy crocodile, after which the hunting party will move to shore, where a stalk of your trophy will put you within shooting distance.

Crocodiles are renowned for their extraordinary sense of smell, sight, and hearing. These all make the thrill of a successful stalk even more rewarding, with the hunter overcoming these challenges to come within shooting distance of the target.

Remember that excellent shot placement remains paramount to secure your crocodile, as a misplaced shot will see your prized trophy slip down into the deep, dark, watery depths, never to be seen again.
