For this Buffalo hunt in Tanzania, you will enter Tanzania in the city of Dr Es Salaam. From there, transfer to the Selous Reserve will be road transfer.
The Selous area of Tanzania is a wilderness area, and you can expect to stay in a three-star African styled tented camp. These accommodations are remarkable featuring on-suite bathrooms, windows and complete floors.
A satellite phone when hunting these remote areas is recommended.
Meals will be three course dinners; lunches will be made “picnic style” if the hunting group is planning to be out all day. Bottled water, beer, wine etc. is available and you will just need to speak with the outfitter if there are any special requests before commencement of the hunting safari.
The hunting season in Tanzania starts on the 1st of June and ends on the 31st of December. Hunting is recommended during the dry months.
Equipment when Buffalo Hunting in Tanzania
The minimum recommended caliber is a .375 and you allowed to bring 200 hundred rounds, per firearm into Tanzania. When Buffalo hunting, we would recommend larger caliber rifles such as 416 Rigby, .458 or .458 Lott. Double rifles will also work exceptionally well.
