This reserve is one of the most remote areas within Tanzania and covers a size of more than 3500 square miles, a pure Tanzania hunting safari paradise.
Rungwa hunting grounds are found within the Manyoni District of the Singida region on part of the western and central Tanzania.
The area consists of rolling hills mixed with patches of forests alongside the streams. The Mpera River offers water to the animals during the dry season, making this area perfect for game hunting. The reserve is also covered with Miombo woodlands, granite “kopjes” providing hunters with access to the dense thickets.
The Rungwa Reserve is the number one trophy hunter’s choice, and the scenery and terrain makes hunting here a most memorable experience, definitely a hunting privilege that not everyone is fortunate enough to enjoy.
Rungwa is famous for enormous “Dagga Boys”, large maned Lions and big Leopards.
It is strongly suggested to add a big Tanzanian Lion hunt to this Cape Buffalo and Royal Antelope package. Lion hunting in Tanzania does not get better than this, these cats are free range and totally wild.
Nowhere in any other African country can the hunter enjoy the basic pleasures of camp life and sport hunting under such favorable conditions.
This “Jewel of Africa” boasts herds of Cape Buffalo who average in herd size of 25 to 60 buffalo. On this dangerous game hunting safari, you will be spoilt with a variety of choice. You will glass and see and track buffalo every day. A second Cape Buffalo can be added to the license.
This buffalo hunting safari is one that many hunters can only dream about. In this part of wild Africa, bumping in Elephants and Lions while tracking your trophy “Dagga Boy” will be a certainty. This area has been described as pure “buffalo hunting” heaven and The Rungwa Valley is one of the greatest safari hunting destinations in all of Africa.
The Rungwa River Royal Antelope Hunt
The Royal Antelope is one of the smallest antelope in Africa, weighing in at a whopping six to eight pounds. Indigenous African fold gave the nickname “king of hares”, hence the name Royal Antelope.
These antelope are not herd animals and generally live alone but are sometimes found in pairs controlling the tiniest of territories.
Shot Placement on Royal Antelope is important. Hunting Royal Antelope is often done with a shotgun, or a small calibre rifle such as a .22 with solid tips.
Like on any hunting safari in Tanzania, the hunter pays the hunting safari day fees and is billed separately for the animals which are harvested during the hunt.
