During a Tanzanian hunt, adherence to local laws and regulations is paramount.
These include:
• You can only hunt animals that fall under your specific license.
• Animals cannot be hunted from a vehicle or chased.
• Hunting is only allowed during daylight hours.
• Females, young, or immature animals may not be hunted.
The accommodation while hunting in Masailand consists of African safari-style tents with en-suite bathrooms. These comfy tents are a home-away-from-home, offering beautiful views over the African bush in the Simanjiro Naberera WMA.
Meals are freshly prepared, making use of local ingredients, and served by local cooks. These can be enjoyed in the communal dining area. You can expect to enjoy some meat (venison) from recent hunting safaris during your time in Tanzania, as well as a traditional braai (BBQ) – Cape buffalo backstrap over the open coals is delicious!
• Hunters must fly into Kilimanjaro International Airport.
• The road transfer from KIA to the camp is 3 hours, at US$ 1,200.
• Alternatively, a charter flight is available at an additional fee.
The following vaccinations are required before entry into Tanzania:
• Yellow Fever: This is only required if you are arriving from or transiting for more than 12-24 hours from a country with a high risk of yellow fever transmission and is NOT required if you are traveling directly from the US or Europe.
Apart from being up to date with your routine vaccinations, it is also recommended to include the following in your regimen: Rabies, Meningitis. Polio, Tdap Vaccine (Tetanus, Diphtheria, and Pertussis), Typhoid, and Hepatitis A & B.
