Hyena hunts can be conducted in this premier destination for both the Spotted and Brown Hyena.
Hyena hunting is becoming popular amongst international hunters as they are just as much fun as Lion and Leopard hunts. If you are considering including a Hyena hunt on this safari, note that only Spotted Hyena trophies can be imported in the US, not Brown Hyena (but can be hunted)
For hunters who love African Cats, Cheetah hunting in Namibia is allowed. Namibia is, in fact, the only African country where Cheetah hunts are legal and can be added to this African plains game hunt for a trophy fee of US$ 4000.
Namibia is the only African big game hunting destination where all members of the Dangerous 7 in Africa can be legally hunted.
Rhino hunts, for both Black and White Rhinos are on offer, with Black Rhino hunts being reserved for a handful of hunters with exceptionally deep pockets. Black Rhino hunts do not come not cheaply!
Namibia is also a sought-after destination for Elephant hunts. Affordable Elephant hunting safaris take place in the Caprivi Strip, where exportable and non-exportable Elephant trophies can be hunted. The central areas of Namibia is home to the bigger “Tuskers” where these hunts have produced tuskers of between 70 and 80 pounds.
Cape Buffalo hunts also mostly take place in the Caprivi, where herds in the thousands cross the Chobe River from Botswana. Leopard hunting in Namibia is one of the most sought-after dangerous game safaris with an incredibly high success rate and is affordable, costing between US$ 20,000 and US$ 30,000 (with Leopard hunting, do not always choose the “cheap” option. It is all about the outfitter’s success rate.
Hippo safaris are limited to the Caprivi Strip, and these Hippo hunts are action-packed and value for your “buck.” Hippo hunting in Namibia is one of the most exciting safaris available and is exceptional value for money. Nothing like stopping a charging Hippo with a big-bore rifle to get the heart racing.
As hippo hunts take place in the same habitat as crocodiles, Crocodile/Hippo combination hunts are in demand. Recent Crocodile hunts have produced trophies of over 15 feet!
If you choose to go Hyena hunting, bait will be charged at US$ 2 per pound.

Hugo is a respected and internationally recognized outfitter who has been conducting safaris for dangerous game and plains game hunts since 2010. Operating in two territories, namely South Africa and Namibia, Hugo and his team are focused on making your dream African safari a reality.
The highest risk of malaria when hunting in Namibia is during the months of November through to June. On any African hunt, unless you are miles away from malaria areas, it is always a suggestion to take precautionary measures. It cannot do any harm.
Only the female Anopheles mosquito can cause Malaria. Like in any village or city in Africa, do not pet stray dogs and animals as they could possibly have Rabies.
If you have not recently had a preventative tetanus shot i.e., in at least the last 8 years, it is also advisable.
Doing some research before the plains game hunt to perfect shot placement is always recommended. Personally, we prefer hunting than walking for days looking for wounded animals. The vitals of African antelopes are slightly differently positioned from deer found in the US and elsewhere.
For the animals listed in this safari, any thirty caliber such as a .308, 30.06- or 300-Win Mag will get the job done. Smaller calibers such as a .270 will also work well, but take note that Gemsbok are incredibly tough antelopes and many a Gemsbok has been lost due to poor shot placement.
The hunting lodge is beautifully positioned on a hill offering spectacular views of Namibian landscape. All rooms are comfortable with en-suite bathrooms and modern amenities. Expect to enjoy delectable cuisine freshly prepared by your chef, in line with the cultural traditions of Namibia, being a blend of African, German, and Afrikaans.
Your chef will delight in preparing fresh Wildebeest back-straps grilled to perfection over the open flame, or a breakfast dish of Springbuck liver with a hint of onion, garlic, and chili. Be prepared for many gastronomical delights!
