The minimum legal caliber in Namibia is a .375. Use good quality optics and ensure the rifle is test fired after being transported long distances.
Avoid shooting the Leopard when he is standing on his hind legs, or when it is lying down. Be aware of the position of the Leopard vitals (shot placement) as they have the ability to move into all kinds of shapes and positions.
The traditional method of Leopard hunting will used, placing multiple baits in areas where Leopards are known to frequent. Once a Leopard begins feeding on a bait, a well concealed temporary blind will be constructed between 50 – 75 yards depending on factors such as topography and wind direction.
Trails cams will also be utilized to identify sex and age of any cats taking the bait. Once a suitable Leopard has been identified, the game of patience and strategy will begin.
