This area is known to produce the best Leopard hunts in Zimbabwe and is truly a hunter’s paradise. This concession is owned by fourth generation Zimbabweans who have been hunting the area for over 40 years. Client care is the forefront of your hunting experience.
Less commonly found antelope such as Tsessebe and Red Hartebeest also reside in these hunting grounds.
Nocturnal hunts for other species are also available and Serval, Civet, Black Backed Jackal, Honey Badgers, and Porcupine are in abundance.
Hyena hunting for the shy and solitary Brown Hyena can also be arranged.
Leopard hunts in this area are conducted using the baiting method. During daylight hours, plains game hunting will take place and some of the proceeds will be used for the purpose of baiting these illusive cats.
Your outfitter will know all the favourite spots and numerous baits high in the trees will strategically be placed.
Once the bait “has been hit,” temporary hunting blinds will be constructed. When it comes to hunting this cat, pound for pound the most dangerous animal in the world when wounded, shot placement on a leopard will need to be “on the money”.
Like with most dangerous game hunts in Africa, a .375 is the minimum calibre recommended. A Leopard is a “soft animal” any 30-calibre rifle would get the job done. When tracking a wounded Leopard, big stopping power will be required. Any double rifle, or .458 Lott and the like of a 500 Jeffery will work. Your professional hunter will be ready for this worst-case scenario.
The camp is set in the shade of a riverine forest overlooking a busy waterhole with a swimming pool and a comfortable “Meru Style en-suite tents.”
The friendly and well-trained team of staff will look after your every need and cuisine will be traditional African home-cooked fare.
This African Outfitter also offers Game Fishing Charters off the East Cost of Africa. If time is not an immediate concern following the Leopard and plains game hunt, we suggest the safari be extended to include angling for Marlin and a wide variety of deep-sea game fish aboard Virpra One, a Luhrs 342 Tournament.
