Expectation breeds excitement on this Hunting Safari!

Over the course of eight days in the breathtaking Cullinan region, each day will bring new challenges and experiences as you set your sights on some of Africa’s most majestic animals.

Kudu Hunting is often regarded as one of the most rewarding pursuits. With their impressive, spiraled horns and graceful movements, Kudu present a unique challenge. . Finding the perfect moment to ” take the shot”, requires patience and skill.

Eland hunting, for the largest of the Spiral horn antelope, poses a significant challenge for any hunter. Eland are both powerful and surprisingly nimble.

Nyala hunting is a pursuit that showcases the beauty of the African bush. With their striking coloration and distinctive spiral horns, Nyala Bulls are a sight to behold. Be very careful when approaching a “dead” Nyala, the ivory on the tips of the horns is incredibly sharp. Nyala have been known to kill hunters by charging forward and the horn tip then severing the femoral artery in the hunters thigh.

Bushbuck hunting is where stealth, strategy and a little luck come to the forefront. Bushbucks are notoriously difficult to find and track as they in habitat  dense thickets.

Non-Hunting Activities for Observers

A personal tour guide is available to transfer observers on daily sightseeing trips and tourist activities such as hugging elephants, cuddling lion cubs, horse riding, shopping at local markets. All these activities are within an hour’s drive from the hunting area and observers will be back before sunset to celebrate the daily hunting success with the hunters over a glass of wine, or a cold beer.

When is the best time to hunt in South Africa?

South Africa is not regulated with regards to a specific hunting season and Plains Game Hunts can take place throughout the all year. The cooler months, which run from April to October are preferred. In summer, the temperatures are just to high. The drier months see the grasses being shorter in the veld, and the bush veld not as dense, both of which allows hunters to more easily spot their prey.

The months of November through to February are also the rainy season. Rain showers and bad weather can continue for days in the hotter months.
