• Tanzania’s hunting season runs from 1st July to 31st December.
• You can only hunt animals that fall under your specific license.
• Animals cannot be hunted from a vehicle or chased.
• Hunting is only allowed during daylight hours.
• Females, young, or immature animals may not be hunted.
• Familiarize yourself with Tanzania’s hunting rules and regulations.
• Use the correct caliber firearm to suit your plains game target. A minimum caliber of .240 is required, with a .270 being popular.
• Do your research about animal behavior and their preferred habitats to increase the chance of a successful hunt.
• Ensure that you read up and are knowledgeable of the correct shot placement to ensure a quick death for the animal.
• Master shooting with sticks, as this is often used on African hunting safaris.
• Ensure that you are physically fit, as plains game hunts often consists of long periods of tracking, glassing, as well as stalking.
• Remember to listen to your PH. He is the expert!

• Upon your arrival in Dodoma, you will journey about 3 1/2 hours by road to reach the hunting grounds.
