When Hunting In Africa, Don’t Forget To Bring The Family!

Many international hunters, when planning their African hunt, often contemplate and wonder whether to bring their families with them to deepest, darkest Africa.

Questions surrounding safety, tourist activities, accommodation, and cuisine often rear their heads as hunters try to ascertain whether Africa is purely a hunting destination or, as many say, a wonderful continent to explore and enjoy with the family.

Hunting in Africa: A Wild Experience

There is something about Africa that has many visitors returning time and again. From tourists and hunters to everyone in between, Africa has a way of engaging your soul, your very being. As Ernest Hemingway so famously said, “I never knew a morning in Africa when I woke up and was not happy.”

While many head to the dark continent to experience hunting in Africa (and they will not be disappointed with its exceptional trophies and available African hunts scattered throughout the continent), there is so much more that Africa has to offer travelers in terms of tourism experiences and fascinating travel destinations.

From rich heritage encounters, thrilling wildlife adventures of note, and interesting cultural attractions, to tasty traditional cuisine and exciting escapades in faraway destinations, Africa has something for everyone

Submerge yourself in African culture while seeing it as if through the eyes of a child, for the very first time. Experience what makes this continent come alive, and see what makes its people so friendly, its destinations so enticing, and the experiences completely unforgettable.

While game hunting in Africa may have been your primary objective, learn more about the diverse offerings of each country and see exactly why your time on the dark continent doesn’t have to end after your African hunt. While hunting in Africa, many establishments offer a variety of activities to keep non-hunters entertained while the hunting safari is busy during the day, with some activities being dependent on where exactly the hunting concession is situated. From games rooms, swimming pools, spas, and onsite entertainment, to day trips, sightseeing, and game viewing, there are numerous options for non-hunters to amuse themselves. When it comes to hunting in Africa, there is one destination that stands out head and shoulders above the rest. That country is, of course, South Africa. With hunting opportunities available throughout the country, South Africa truly is the pinnacle of hunting in Africa, offering quality trophies and exceptional experiences. As a South African having visited many of these African countries, I must confess that my favorite destination is Namibia. Often referred to as “the land of sand,” I cannot even think of Namibia without smiling, remembering the exciting and diverse experiences I have had as a tourist.

From dangerous game and African plains game to being the only destination where each member of the Big 5 is available to hunt as well as the only destination where cheetahs can be hunted, Namibia is truly exceptional.
