Ogilby’s duiker (Cephalophus ogilby) is a medium-sized duiker found in Central and Western Africa including Cameroon, Congo, Gabon, Sierra Leone, Bioko Island, Ghana, Liberia, and Nigeria. No subspecies are recognized. This duiker is a protected species in some areas and regions and is not allowed to be hunted.
This duiker prefers a habitat of high-altitude rain forests, particularly with dense, undisturbed areas. The Ogilby’s duiker is herbivorous, feeding on a variety of fruits, flowers, seeds, and leaves. It is also known to follow monkeys through the forest, feeding on the abundant fallen fruit. The Ogilby’s duiker is diurnal, and most active in the early morning and late afternoons.
Breeding happens throughout the year with no peaks at any specific time. The gestation period for this duiker is approximately 240 days, after which a single offspring is born.
The IUCN lists its conservation status as “least concern.”

The Ogilby’s duiker has a distinctive black dorsal stripe running from its shoulder to its tail, with a chestnut to dark brown coat. Both sexes have horns with the males’ horns (3.4.7 inches) being slightly larger than the females’ horns (1.5-2.3 inches). The horns are conical and curve slightly inwards at the tips.
It has a typical duiker physique with larger back legs and an off-white underbelly.
