Best Season to hunt Buffalo in South Africa
While hunting is available throughout the year in South Africa, the peak season for enjoying Cape buffalo hunting – and, in fact, any hunting in the region – is during the cooler, drier months (May to September). During these cooler months, the hunt is more manageable in terms of critters and bugs, and the vegetation and grasses are also shorter, allowing the hunter to spot and stalk his prey more easily. Animals are more likely to gather in or around water holes, increasing the opportunities for hunters to enjoy a successful safari.
