    About this Outfitter

WELCOME TO A THRILLING AFRICAN HUNTING ADVENTURE!

We invite you to enjoy a game hunting adventure in Africa, visiting South Africa, Zimbabwe, or Mozambique for an unforgettable safari! My name is Kevin, and my wife Natalie and I are based in the Eastern Cape, South Africa, from where we oversee our family-run outfitting business, together with my brother-in-law, Edward.

    South Africa

We offer personalized and memorable hunting safaris in the Eastern Cape! We have been in the industry since 2005 and invite you to enjoy true South African hospitality during your stay with us. Hunting is in the traditional walk-and-stalk fashion, and the experienced professional hunters, Kevin and brother-in-law Edward, have extensive knowledge of the area, which has been home to the family for 200 years. We know this area like the back of our hands, and it has been home to our family for more than 200 years. Edward and I are both professional hunters (PHs) and use our knowledge of the region and expertise to ensure a great hunting safari with us. When hunting with us in the Eastern Cape, know that we generally utilize the traditional walk-and-stalk method to harvest both trophy and non-trophy African plains game species.

Our camp is situated near Grahamstown, in Makanda; this is roughly a two and a half hour drive from Port Elizabeth. Natalie and her dedicated staff run a first-class camp, offering personal attention, excellent food, and a homely atmosphere where you can relax after a day's hunting.

The landscape in this part of South Africa is varied and scenic, ranging from rolling, wide, open plains and savannah to mountains with thickly wooded valleys and bushlands. The diversity of terrain results in a wide range of huntable species and creates ideal conditions for good and exciting hunting. The Farm is a 12,000-acre, fully operational cattle and sheep farm with thriving game numbers due to careful management and conservation.

In addition to hunting on our farm, we have access to neighboring farms that form the Fish River Conservancy. This allows us a healthy core hunting area in excess of 40,000 acres. We have access to numerous other game reserves and game farms across the Eastern Cape and South Africa, allowing us to customize your safari to include a wide range of species.

The Eastern Cape offers some interesting hunting experiences and species, including the elusive and challenging Vaal Rhebok in the mountains, exciting hound hunting for Caracal, and unusual species such as Bontebok and Blue Duiker.

    Zimbabwe

John and his wife founded the Zimbabwe section of this outfitting business in 1979, and it is one of the oldest and most experienced safari operations in the region. Over the years, they have built a reputation for providing first-class service. The company has expanded with John’s children and their spouses joining the hunting safari operation.

In 2009, the family acquired a share of Coutada 9 in central Mozambique. Coutada 9 was one of the most famous hunting blocks in the heydays of safaris to Africa. Here, John, along with his family and partners, has put his experience and expertise to work to return this area to its former glory. John's sons, James and Edward, are the principal professional hunting guides and also manage the area and camps.

Zimbabwe remains a popular hunting destination, particularly for Elephant and Leopard. As in Mozambique, clients will benefit from the guiding experience of James and Edward. James' wife, Vikki, coordinates the logistics of the hunting in Mozambique and Zimbabwe from the office in Bulawayo.

As a family-run and owned outfitter, we continue to provide an excellent personalized service while conducting memorable safaris for our clients across Southern Africa.

    Mozambique

We are pleased to offer you some exceptional game hunting adventures in Mozambique! We are based in Coutada 9, located in Manica Province, about 60km South of the Zambezi River, in the Macossa District. The area is a 155-mile (5-hour) drive South of Tete, the nearest airport. Alternatively, clients can also fly to Beira (280 miles / 6-hour drive). This game hunting area is 433,300 hectares (1,070,700 acres) and has magnificent habitat diversity. Miombo woodland, Combretum savanna, Panga Panga forests with large sand rivers fringed by riverine forest, while majestic granite inselbergs and rugged kopjies break up the terrain. The result is a large diversity of game species that inhabit this Coutada. The concession is home to Warthog, Kudu, Eland, and Impala, with healthy numbers of sought-after species such as Nyala, Sable, Lichtenstein Hartebeest, Oribi, and Suni. Coutada 9 offers the discerning hunter the unique opportunity to pursue a large variety of Plains game in a truly wild, "Old Africa" style safari in unfenced dangerous game country, while also offering Elephant, Lion, and Buffalo safaris. Elephants and Buffalo are hunted in the traditional style of tracking and stalking on foot. The area has healthy and increasing populations of all species, and hunting is regulated by strict offtake quotas.

Coutada 9, historically one of the most famous hunting blocks in Africa, under Safrique and Adelino Pires. Unfortunately, the area suffered heavily under the turmoil of the Mozambique liberation and civil wars. The Rosenfels family has secured a long lease on this area and is striving to return it to its former glory. Work carried out includes the construction of comfortable safari lodges, the development of an extensive road network, and the addition of water sources such as permanent dams for the wildlife. A professional and effective anti-poaching unit has been created by employing and training locals. A large portion of the hunting income is ploughed back into local communities and anti-poaching efforts. These strategies, along with wildlife reintroduction, have boosted the game populations considerably.

We pride ourselves on offering fair-chase, free-range hunting with an underlying ethos of promoting conservation-oriented hunting safaris, and look forward to welcoming you on an unforgettable African safari.
