About Niassa in Mozambique

Niassa, is truly wild Africa. A vast and untouched wilderness. It does not get more remote than this. This prime hunting concession in Mozambique is famous for Cape Buffalo hunting.  Niassa, regularly delivers world class trophies and quality “Dagga Boys”, equipped and armed with plenty of attitude and character. The Niassa Reserve is beautifully managed by having moderate quota allocations per species, age-appropriate harvesting and is well isolated from human activities. Bordering Tanzania, Niassa is the largest conservation area in Mozambique at more than 26 000 square miles. The province of Niassa, is a wild life paradise like nowhere else in Africa. This should not be surprising as Niassa is part of the same eco-system as Tanzania’s Selous Reserve.

The Cape Buffalo Hunt

Hunting trophy Buffalo will be nose to the ground and following the track until you meet up with Africa’s “Widow maker”. Shot placement on this Cape Buffalo is going to be crucial. There is no such thing as “too much gun” when on a Cape Buffalo hunt.

Traveling to Niassa Province

You will fly into OR Tambo international airport in South Africa and then take an airlink flight to Phemba Mozambique.  On arrival at Phemba you will then take a charter flight (to be arranged with your outfitter) that will take you to your hunting camp.  The hunting areas are true “wild Africa” and road transport to camp is near impossible.  The Charter is $5000 round trip, but this can be less if there are any guests sharing. Please note that this would need to be booked at least 2 months in advance and must be paid in cash on the day of your flight or pre-paid by transfer.

The Hunting Lodge in Mozambique

Each of the camps has  luxury safari tents with bathroom and toilet ensuite, and hot and cold running water 24/7. All camps have their own solar systems or generators for power supplies as well as high speed satellite internet and all other necessities required to make for a comfortable stay. Luxury Daily laundry service. Each camp is complete with iridium satellite phone in case of an emergency.
