    About The Hunting Ground

Situated in South Eastern Tanzania, the Selous Reserve is one of the largest protected areas in Tanzania and allows a hunter an authentic hunting safari in Tanzania, as human interference within the reserve is minimal. One of the region’s latest rivers is the Rufiji River that runs through the game reserve, drawing both predators and prey to the area. The landscape varies from Miombo–type woodland and dense forest to bush, open plains, and even rocky outcrops. The Selous is renowned for its dangerous game, including big cats, Elephants, Buffalo, Hippo and Crocodile, while prized plains game trophies such as the Lichtenstein wildebeest, Greater Kudu, Chobe Bushbuck, and Livingstone Eland are available to hunt.

Tanzania offers vast, unfenced hunting blocks with low hunter density across the savanna, miombo forests, and wetlands. Species diversity is exceptional, with Cape buffalo, Sable, Roan, plus Masailand specialties like Lesser Kudu and Gerenuk on offer. The destination is also renowned for its dangerous game trophies, including four of Africa’s Big 5.
