The hunting season in the Iluma WMA runs annually from 01 July to 31 December. The area is known for its thick, dense vegetation, including miombo woodlands, floodplain grasslands, and riverine forests. The region is renowned for its biodiversity as it supports a wide range of wildlife, including members of the Big 5 (Lion, Leopard, Cape Buffalo, and Elephant), along with carnivores such as the Hyena and Wild Dog, and numerous African plains game species, including the Eland, Bushbuck, Puku, Sable, and Kirk’s Dik-dik.
