Traveling to the Hunting Concession
This hunting safari takes place on the famous Lake Kariba, the world’s largest manmade lake. For hunters wanting to reach Lake Kariba, there are two main options:
Kairba Airport is less than 10 miles from the lake, allowing easy access to hunters.
Alternatively, Lake Kairba is roughly a 4-hour trip by road transfer from Harare. Speak to Mike and Sean and see which option best suits your requirements.
Lake Kariba
The terrain around Lake Kariba hunting grounds mainly features rolling landscapes with a mix of river valleys, hills, slopes, and anthills. This diverse terrain supports many species in the area, including Hippo, Crocodile, and other large game such as Lion, Leopard, Elephant, Greater Kudu, and Eland.
The area’s varied terrain and vegetation are prime habitats for the Nile Crocodile and Hippo, with the natural cover and feeding grounds allowing these semi-aquatic species to thrive. The area’s natural hills, thickets, and woodlands provide the perfect camouflage for hunters wanting to hunt them.
Accommodation & Lodging
Enjoy a true African safari, staying in luxury tented accommodation. Meals are served in the large lapa area, which has seen many cold drinks and late-night strategy talks through the years as hunters shared their hunting tales and adventures.
Wake up to the sights and sounds of Africa! Warm showers, comfortable beds, delicious cuisine, and prime hunting conditions make this safari an unforgettable experience!
African hunts involving the Nile crocodile require precise shot placement, patience, and extreme caution to successfully harvest this dangerous beast that can grow up to 18 feet and weigh over 2,000 pounds. This cunning, cold-blooded predator enjoys sunning itself on riverbanks, appearing innocent while its jaws contain 64-68 razor-sharp teeth, just waiting to sink it into its next victim.
Both bows and rifles are permitted in certain areas when Crocodile hunting in Zimbabwe. Choose a rifle capable of penetrating its thick skull and vertebrae for a humane and quick kill. Keep in mind that Nile Crocodiles are notoriously hard to kill and have thick, armor-like skin to protect their vital organs. Rifles such as a 7mm, 300 Win Mag, or .375 will do the job.
