Tips for Hunting Roan, Sable & Lechwe

    • All three of these antelopes are known for their size, strength, and agility. Although the Lechwe is smaller than the other two antelopes, it is still seen as being a larger antelope with good strength.Keep this in mind when considering shot placement for an ethical and clean kill
    • Due to their size and anatomy, accurate shot placement is crucial, requiring hunter skill and knowledge of the species
    • The Roan antelope is renowned for their sharp senses, making it a challenge to stalk them undetected, while Sables are very territorial. Keep this in mind when stalking them
    • Roan and Sable inhabit dense woodlands, grasses, and bushy areas, making visibility a challenge, while Lechwe inhabit areas near marshes and water, with the terrain being tricky to access and approach
    • Hunting these antelopes is physically demanding, requiring good fitness levels for long stalking sessions, patience, perseverance, and excellent shot placement
