About this Outfitter

Dalton and York have been lifelong friends and professional hunting partners, sharing camps and experiences for over a decade. With more than 10 years of combined professional hunting experience across Zimbabwe, Cameroon, and Mozambique, they have developed a deep connection to the African wilderness. Their shared passion is the Zambezi Valley, renowned for its unpredictable terrain and some of Zimbabwe's most untamed big game. This challenging environment fuels their dedication to creating unforgettable hunting experiences.

The formation of their company was born out of shared values, friendship, and a commitment to excellence. Dalton and York strive to turn every client’s dream game hunting safari into a reality. Through meticulous preparation, unwavering dedication, and a focus on client satisfaction, they ensure that every hunt is not only successful but also immensely enjoyable.

Dalton’s journey into professional hunting began at a young age. Growing up alongside his father, an avid hunter, and surrounded by passionate cousins, he was immersed in the bush from the moment he could walk. His love for hunting only grew as he learned to track, shoot, and navigate the wilderness. Qualifying as a Zimbabwean Professional Hunter at the age of 21, Dalton has never looked back. For him, hunting is not just a job but a way of life.

He is a firm believer in the traditional “fair chase” approach, embracing the challenge of tracking old dagga boy warriors and persisting until the hunt is complete. Dalton values the camaraderie between hunters and the bonds forged over long days in the field and evenings by the campfire. He finds immense satisfaction in the blend of adventure, effort, and reward that defines every hunt.

York grew up on a farm in the South-East Lowveld of Zimbabwe, where his love for wildlife and hunting was nurtured. At 16, he moved to South Africa and completed a diploma in Wildlife and Lodge Management. In 2009, he returned to Zimbabwe and began his professional hunting career, qualifying in 2012. York’s extensive experience spans Mozambique, Cameroon, and most regions of Zimbabwe.

For York, hunting is more than a career; it is a lifelong passion. He approaches every safari with a focus on safety, integrity, and ethical hunting. York is supported by a team he deeply trusts: Zvito, his head tracker, and Sunnyboy, his driver/tracker. Their exceptional tracking skills and dedication significantly enhance the success of every hunt.

Situated in the heart of the Zambezi Valley, the Omay Concession spans an impressive 2 million acres of unfenced terrain and more than 120 miles  of Lake Kariba’s shoreline. This area offers a premier African safari experience, combining aquatic adventures with the chance to hunt the four of the Big 5, namely lion, leopard, buffalo, and elephant.

The concession is a true haven for big game hunters, offering thrilling opportunities to track elephant bulls, tuskless cows, large buffalo herds, and solitary dagga boys. Combination safaris allow hunters to pursue lion, leopard, crocodile, hippo, sable, and an array of African plains game, all within a single concession.

The permanent camps are strategically located and well-equipped, offering all the comforts of a traditional African safari while keeping you connected to the untamed wilderness.

This concession is not just about world-class game hunting but also about giving back to the local community. Located in a communal area, the concession directly supports the people who live there. No animal goes to waste, as the meat from every hunt is distributed to the community. Additionally, part of the trophy fees contributes to essential services such as schools, clinics, and boreholes for clean water.
