About this hunt

Trophy Leopard Hunting Safari in Namibia

1 x Hunter 1 x Professional Hunter  US$ 25 000

If a Leopard hunt  is on the list, do not go on safari with what we call the “cheap and nasty route”. You will more than likely go home “empty handed”.

Time is money, and wasted time chasing Leopard in poor areas, can cost a fortune!!!

Hunt a Leopard with a reputable outfitter, who is focused on your Leopard Trophy, not just collecting “day fees”.

On our last Elephant hunt in Namibia, sitting have a adult cold beverage in Windhoek, we met another hunter from the U.S.A. who twice already booked  “heavily discounted” Leopard hunting safaris. No Leopard in the trophy room!!!  Janneman and his team of professionals know how to deliver and have a 90% success rate.

We, by chance visited this hunting lodge and Janneman while on a hunt. You will not be disappointed. We have hunted Namibia on numerous occasions for Hippo, Cape Buffalo and Elephant and this destination. along with the quality of Leopards is exceptional.

Traveling to Hunt in Namibia

This Leopard hunt in Namibia will commence with the hunting party  touching down into Hosea Kutako International Airport (WDH) in Windhoek, Namibia. Due to the time allocated to the road transfer to reach the hunting concession (+- 4 to 5 hours), you will need to overnight in Windhoek.  The Hilton Hotel is recommended, and has secure facilities for rifle storage, plus a great rooftop bar and pool. The Hilton will also arrange your collection/transfers from Hosea Kutako and drop off again for your departing flight (plus the breakfasts are great). But, there are many fabulous hotels in near vicinity to each other.

In Windhoek, there are many popular venues for dining and sampling a few of the local beers and steaks, such as “The Butchers Block”, or ” Joe’s Beer house”. We can recommend both.

Windhoek is also easy to navigate and travel is not expensive at all. You can download the Yango App, and make use of Windhoek;s version of Uber”. Near to the hotels, are a variety of retail shopping facilities for any last minute purchases (or to purchase a bottle of your favorite malt)

Comfortable Four-Star Accommodation on the Leopard Hunt

Arriving at the camp, a team of skilled trackers and welcoming staff greet you warmly. The camp offers an ideal blend of rustic charm and modern comfort, providing a sanctuary after long days in the bush.

Your chalet is well-appointed, featuring cozy beds, a private bathroom with shower, air conditioning, and hot water. Daily laundry service ensures you will be  refreshed throughout your stay and not having to pack pounds of hunting gear. Meals are an experience in themselves, with hearty breakfasts, satisfying lunches, and delicious dinners served in a modern dining area.

As the sun sets on another day on a Leopard hunting safari, everyone will gather around the campfire enjoying a few cold beverages. The crackling flames and vast starlit sky create the perfect backdrop for sharing hunting stories and adventures.

The Adventure of Leopard Hunting in Namibia

Hunting a  Leopard is a true test of endurance and expertise, and a certain amount of luck, Leopards do not get big by being stupid. Leopard hunting is not just about the pursuit; it’s about embracing the wild, respecting the land, and accepting the challenges it presents. It

The dangers of Leopard hunting are very real. These cats are powerful, unpredictable and capable of lightning-fast attacks if cornered or wounded.

Leopard Hunting Method

The hunting concession covers thousands of acres, meaning there are plenty of big cats available. In Namibia Tom Cats get huge, over 170 pounds. Janneman, prior to your arrival, will start baiting selected areas in order to start the process of attracting these cats to a bait. Leopards have big territories that they patrol covering many miles.

A typical day on a Leopard hunt will be to leave the hunting lodge at first light after a light breakfast. You and the team will then head out, traversing the concession, checking and restocking baited area.

Trails cams will be made use of to check activity and to try and identify size, sex and age of the Leopard once on the bait. Once a trophy Leopard has been identified, a temporary blind will be constructed using local materials and it will then be “game on”, and most certainly a game of patience. Leopards also respond well to callers, such as the Fox Pro units. The challenge of course in this instance is getting the cat to within shooting distance.

As Namibia does not allow dangerous game hunting with a bow, a Leopard on this safari cannot be hunted in with a bow/cross bow.

A trophy Leopard no matter where you are hunting in Africa is classified as a fully mature male.

Plains Game Hunting on the Leopard Safari

While the focus is on getting the Leopard, this hunting safari includes a Kudu bull and Springbok hunt.

The Kudu, with its impressive spiral horns, is often called the “Grey Ghost” due to its uncanny ability to vanish into the bush. Hunting Kudu requires sharp eyes and precise shot placement, as these majestic antelope are both cautious and fast.

The Springbok presents a different challenge. These agile antelope are fleet-footed and highly alert, making them a tough target even for seasoned hunters. Stalking a Springbok across open plains tests both patience and shooting precision.

Best time to go Leopard Hunting in Namibia

Namibia’s hunting season is from February to November, the summer months of December and January are just too hot. High temperatures can lead to dehydration and plains game hunting is just too unpleasant.

Rifles and Ammunition on a hunt in Namibia

The Namibian government understands the contributions being made by hunters and you will be welcomed into Namibia. Should you choose to bring your own rifle, it is a simple, quick and painless process. On arrival at Hosea Kutako International Airport, you will need to proceed to firearm collections. The Namibian Police have an office outside international arrivals. Once you present the police officials with proof of ownership and the letter of invitation from Janneman, you will be issued a permit at no cost. Its that simple.
