Traveling to Limpopo

The Hunting Ranch
When hunting African plains game in South Africa, you don’t get better than the Limpopo province, with its wide array of species and abundance of game. As part of the Springbok Flats, the hunting grounds consist of a combination of mixed grasslands, bushveld, and grassland.
The vegetation usually consists of dense thickets and open spaces, so hunters need to be skilled in walk-and-stalk techniques, as visibility can be challenging in dense bushveld areas. The 3266-acre concession has several dams, attracting wildlife to the area.
The Hunting Lodge
The hunting accommodation has a rich African theme, with guests staying in traditional rondavels or African huts. There are three rondavels, each with en-suite bathrooms, sleeping up to four people per hut. Each rondavel enjoys its own private patio, perfect for game viewing or enjoying a sundowner in the tranquil bush setting.
The accommodation is situated in the heart of the bush with spacious entertainment, braai (barbecue), and dining areas. The swimming pool, in the entertainment area, is surrounded by a shady lapa and wild bush.
For non-hunters, there is a wide variety of activities to enjoy, including game drives (day and night), game walks, bird watching, and fishing in one of the dams. Other activities can also be arranged at a fee.
South Africa is one of the premier game hunting regions in Africa. But what makes this destination so popular? Firstly, it is easily accessible from almost anywhere worldwide, with daily international flights landing at one of the three international airports. Domestic flights are quick, offering hunters a variety of options to be able to hunt in any of the country’s nine provinces and to reach them with ease, whether by domestic flights or charter flights. For closer hunting concessions or locations, road transfers also allow visitors to see the natural fauna and flora in the area.
While many regions have restrictions on the hunting season, hunting takes place throughout the year in South Africa, although the peak season is the cooler months from around May to August. While many African destinations can be quite expensive when considering a hunting safari, Compared to other African destinations, South African hunts are value for money, with outfitters seen as some of the best worldwide, and South African hospitality being legendary.
South Africa can offer hunters the best of both worlds: Whether they are interested in a big game safari featuring the Big 5, or perhaps an iconic African plains game hunt, the destination ticks all the boxes in terms of species, variety, abundance, and overall hunting experience. It is also the only destination worldwide, apart from Namibia, where all members of Africa’s Big 5 can be hunted.
Lastly, when all is said and done, the last bullet is shot and the trophies are in the salt, this diverse destination offers travelers great family getaways and holidays, allowing hunters to easily travel with family and other non-hunting parties.
