    Traveling to Limpopo

Hunters must land at OR Tambo International Airport in Johannesburg, South Africa. The hunting grounds in Limpopo are reached via a 3-hour road transfer. For hunters bringing in their own rifles, they must complete a SAPS 520 application upon entry into the country.

    The Hunting Reserve

When hunting African plains game in South Africa, you don’t get better than the Limpopo province, with its wide array of species and abundance of game. As part of the Springbok Flats, the hunting grounds consist of a combination of mixed grasslands, bushveld, and grassland.

The vegetation usually consists of dense thickets and open spaces, so hunters need to be skilled in walk-and-stalk techniques, as visibility can be challenging in dense bushveld areas. The 3266-acre concession has several dams, attracting game to the area.

    Hunting Lodge in South Africa

The hunting accommodation has a rich African theme, with guests staying in traditional rondavels or African huts. There are three rondavels, each with en-suite bathrooms, sleeping up to four people per hut. Each rondavel enjoys its own private patio, perfect for game viewing or enjoying a sundowner in the tranquil bush setting.

The accommodation is situated in the heart of the bush with spacious entertainment, braai (barbecue), and dining areas. The swimming pool, in the entertainment area, is surrounded by a shady lapa and wild bush.

For non-hunters, there is a wide variety of activities to enjoy, including game drives (day and night), game walks, bird watching, and fishing in one of the dams. Other activities can also be arranged at a fee.

    Why hunt in South Africa?

    • South Africa is easily accessible from almost anywhere worldwide, with daily international flights landing at one of the three international airports
    • With nine provinces in South Africa, hunters are spoiled for choice as each province offers some form of hunting, with some provinces, such as the Limpopo, offering more variety and better hunting opportunities, especially for plains game hunts
    • Hunting takes place throughout the year in South Africa, although the peak season is the cooler months from around April to September
    • South African hunts are seen as value for money when compared with other African destinations
    • South African outfitters are seen as some of the best worldwide, with South African hospitality being legendary.
    • The area is renowned for its wide array of both African plains game and dangerous game hunting options, giving hunters a wide variety of species from which to choose
    • It is the only destination worldwide, apart from Namibia, where all members of Africa’s Big 5 can be hunted (With this being said, no Leopard permits have been issued in quite some time)
    • South Africa, also referred to as the rainbow nation, offers great family getaways, holidays,  and tourist attractions, allowing hunters to easily travel with family and other non-hunting parties
