While South Africa may be renowned for its Big 5 or African plains game species, many other species also allow the hunter to challenge himself and his skillset, providing exciting and memorable hunting safaris while producing unusual game hunting trophies.
The honey badger is considered one of the toughest animals to hunt. This aggressive species is tough as nails, so be prepared for a test of nerves, perseverance, and courage when facing an animal that is unafraid to confront a full-grown lion!
Not all of Africa’s cats are large, some such as the Genet, Serval, Caracal, and Civet, may be smaller in size, but make up with their cunning natures, camouflage skills, and exceptional agility.
The Porcupine is a unique hunting trophy to add to any collection, while the Black-backed jackal is small, fast, and a challenge to hunt.
Hunters will fly into OR Tambo International Airport, after which they will take a regional flight to Polokwane Airport. Dean and his team will meet hunters upon arrival. After a short road transfer, hunters will arrive at the lodge and hunting grounds.
• Limpopo is widely regarded as the best hunting ground in South Africa. For this hunt, the hunting lodge is based in Messina, northern Limpopo.
• The hunting grounds are 12,000ha, teeming with African plains game, specialty game, as well as dangerous game with the Cape Buffalo roaming the area.
• Vegetation consists of Mopane bush, Acacia trees and mixed bushveld
• In terms of terrain, the area and surrounds are generally flat, with rocky outcrops and small hills, while the Sand River also runs through the concession.
• This type of landscape and vegetation provides the hunter with a more challenging hunting experience, testing his skills and ability to adapt his hunting style on the move.
This authentic African hunting lodge sleeps 12 people, ensuring a smaller, more intimate hunting party. The chalets are well-equipped with en-suite bathrooms, with air conditioning. WiFi and cell phone reception is available.
Expect to be spoilt with some delectable cuisine prepared by the resident chef, served in a dining area overlooking the surrounding veld.
From firepits and chill areas, to a swimming pool, this hunting lodge has all you need to relax after an exciting day’s hunting.
