The Lunda Nkwambi GCA Hunting Block
  - The hunting block is situated in western Tanzania.
  - This large 300,000-acre hunting block is renowned for its remoteness, natural beauty, array of wildlife, and diverse ecosystems.
  - It's less populated than other regions, making it the perfect region for hunters to enjoy an authentic African hunting safari.
  - The area features a variety of landscapes, including woodlands, savannas, and river systems, with a wide range of habitats suiting both African plains game and dangerous game species.
  - The area is home to many notable species, including members of Africa’s Big 5 and Dangerous 7.
  - The area supports about 70% of the huntable species in Tanzania.
  - The Lunda Nkwambi GCA is seen as one of the best hunting blocks that Tanzania has to offer, with the overall hunting experience that it offers hunters in the region being exceptional.
  - For hunters, it provides a memorable hunting experience, with the combination of its size, rich biodiversity, and relatively low human population all being major drawcards.
  - The area is also involved in several conservation efforts to ensure the ongoing sustainability of the area.
  - These include structured conservation management through TAWA, community involvement in wildlife management, ongoing monitoring of wildlife populations, and various anti-poaching initiatives.

 Hunting Regulations in Tanzania
While hunting in Tanzania, ensure that you are familiar with local hunting regulations, including knowing which species you are allowed to hunt under your specific hunting license. Other important regulations are that animals are not allowed to be hunted from a vehicle or chased, and no females, young, or immature animals may be harvested. The country’s hunting season is regulated from 1st July to 31st December, with hunting taking place during the drier months in Tanzania. Lastly, hunting is only allowed during daylight hours, there is no hunting under artificial lights.
Tips when Dangerous Game Hunting in Tanzania
  - Remain focused and alert, the bush is a very unpredictable environment where changes happen at the drop of a hat.
  - Read up and know about the correct shot placement for your targeted species, to ensure a quick and humane death as well as an ethical hunt.
  - Become acquainted with the hunting laws of the country, as well as the hunting area.
  - Listen to your PH…what he says goes, no matter what. No hesitation, do as you are instructed to.
  - Ensure all gear is in excellent condition and suited to the terrain and species you are targeting for this dangerous game hunt.
  - Safety first, always. Once the animal is shot, do not approach immediately, and be ready with a follow-up shot should it be needed. Give the animal time and space before it tries one last time to attack.

Dangerous Game Hunting Methods & Rifle Calibers
Bow hunting of dangerous game is illegal in Tanzania, and a minimum of a .375 must be used when hunting dangerous game.
When Hippo hunting, be prepared for a challenging safari, as a Hippo spends up to 16 hours a day in the water, sometimes with only its eyes and ears visible. A reminder to ensure that your knowledge of shot placement for this water horse includes both land and water shot placement options. Hippos will leave the water to graze on land during the cooler evening hours and return to the water early in the morning.
Hippos are hunted through stalking them on land as they leave the water to graze on land, or retreat to the water once they have finished grazing at night. Other options include hunting them from a blind while they are on land or targeting them while in the water. Each hunting method has its own set of challenges for the hunter.
The Nile Crocodile, another member of the Dangerous 7, is also quite a test for hunters. Hunting methods include the use of bait and blinds, where a piece of meat is left near the water’s edge to attract crocodiles. A temporary blind is then constructed with a clear view of the meat, from where this apex predator is then hunted.
Alternatively, the Crocodile is quietly stalked along the river banks until a clear shot can be taken. It is extremely challenging to approach a crocodile undetected, as it is extremely wary with excellent senses. Be prepared to work hard for your trophy!
