    Zambian Hunting Safaris

Zambia is a bucket-list destination for many international hunters, and not surprisingly so, as this diverse destination offers hunters the thrilling adventure of an authentic African safari! Boasting an array of landscapes and terrain, a wide selection of species, and the chance to hunt in the untamed wilderness, Zambia ticks all the boxes for an unforgettable hunting safari.

This landlocked African country is renowned for its highly regulated hunting industry, sporting limited quotas and a clearly defined hunting season to ensure sustainability. It’s also well-known for producing excellent trophies for both antelope and dangerous game species.

    This Hunt in Zambia Includes:

    The Outfitter hosting the Hunt

Steven is an expert outfitter, having vast experience hunting both dangerous and African plains game species. He operates within numerous Zambian hunting territories, depending on the target species for the African hunting safari.

Hunting in Zambia allows a hunter to experience the thrill of an authentic African hunt, with outfitters hunting only free-range animals. This is not a fenced-off area, but remote Africa, where game traverses freely, allowing hunters to experience the excitement of a traditional African safari experience.

    Traveling to Zambia

Hunters will arrive in Zambia through Lusaka at Kenneth Kaunda International Airport. A common route involves flying via South Africa's Oliver Tambo International Airport on airlines like Airlink. Airlink accommodates firearm transport, but you must notify them at ticket purchase that you're traveling with firearms, which incurs a small additional fee.

From Lusaka, a charter flights of around 1.5 hours will take you to the hunting grounds. This is not included in the package price.

    Tips when Plains Game Hunting

    • Hunt during the drier months (May to October), when the vegetation is less, and animals are more likely to gather around waterholes
    • Choose your rifle caliber carefully, with a .270 to a .375 utilized on a plains game hunt, depending on the species
    • Practice shooting from sticks, as this is a very common method used in Africa
    • Do some research and understand animal behavior; for example, the Puku favours floodplains while the Greater Kudu is known for its camouflage skills
    • While researching the species, ensure that you note the best shot placement options
    • Prepare for challenging terrain, with some hunting areas involving waterlogged conditions or thick bush. Therefore, be physically prepared and choose an outfitter familiar with local conditions
    • Wear appropriate hunting gear, including camouflage lightweight clothing, a good hat, and sunscreen, as well as quality binoculars for glassing
    • Keep hydrated as the physical demands of the hunt can be draining

    Zambian Tourist Activities

When organizing your game hunting safari to a destination as spectacular as Zambia, family members often top the list, eagerly asking to join this African safari! This diverse African country delivers on and exceeds expectations, offering plenty of activities for them while you're occupied your hunt! Attractions abound, from national parks to the renowned Victoria Falls. Family options include walking with Lions, riding Elephants, and, for a more elegant touch, savoring high tea. Zambezi River cruises are a hit for spotting game, such as Crocodiles and Hippos, while enjoying an enthralling trip down the river.
