This is dangerous game hunting in Africa at its best. This hunting safari is a legal Crocodile and Hippo permitted hunt that few outfitters in South African can offer. Crocodiles and Hippos, kill more people than all the other Dangerous 7 in Africa combined. You ready?

Hunt both Free-Range Hippo and Crocodile. As they share the same habitat, it makes sense to hunt them both on one safari.

There is limited quota available for both the Hippo and Crocodile in South Africa!!

Rifle Rental is available @ US$ 20 per day and at US$ 10/per round.

The outfitter has a 100% success rate for these Hippo and Crocodile combination hunts.

The Crocodile Hunt in South Africa

This offer is for a free-range Nile Crocodile of up to 13 feet!!

The Nile Crocodile is an unusual trophy that can be hunted in Africa. At thirteen feet, these Crocodiles would be over forty years old. These reptiles with their small “golf ball” size brains only have one thing in mind, and that is to kill, and they are not too fussy who the victims are.

Do not be fooled by a Nile Crocodile. They are extremely dangerous. We at Game Hunting Safaris.com were fortunate enough to go on a safari, for some Crocodile hunting in Mozambique. From personal experience we can confirm, hunting a crocodile is an incredible experience and is highly recommended.

In South Africa, like with Elephant being charged per pound, Crocodiles are charged per foot. Larger Crocodiles are available at an increased trophy fee, namely:

  •   12 to 13 Feet: US$  3 850
  •   13 to 14 Feet: US$  6 270
  •  14 to 15 Feet: US$ 11 165

The Hippo Hunt in South Africa

Situated near the Kruger National Park, this area is famous for producing some huge Hippo’s. Hippo hunts in recent years are becoming even more in demand by dangerous game hunters as it is realized just how action packed and dangerous Hippo hunt is. Getting between a charging Hippo and the water is not a good idea. In this case, only a bullet into the brain with a large caliber rifle will stop this guy.

Like with the Crocodile hunt, we at Game Hunting Safaris.com have been privileged enough to go Hippo hunting in Namibia. Hippo hunting is recommended.

Shot Placement: Hippo and Crocodile Hunts

HIPPO

Besides sharing the same territories, if there is one thing these two animals share is the importance of shot placement.

In the water, a perfect shot for a Hippo will be either between the eyes into the brain, or from the side, between the ear and the eye. A near miss in deep water will result in the Hippo vanishing. On land, your dangerous game PH will recommend a bullet into the heart from the broadside position.

When Crocodile hunting, like a Hippo, the Crocodile needs to be anchored by a well-placed bullet into the brain. From the side, aim above the smile and behind the eye. The other alternative would be directly into the spine. A first shot into the heart could see the Crocodile slithering back into the water. Wading through deep water after a huge Nile Crocodile, is going to present some challenges.
