Traveling for the Hunt in South Africa
Hunters will fly into OR Tambo International Airport in Johannesburg. Road transfers from OR Tambo to the hunting grounds are available at US$ 600 return, with the journey taking about 3 hours. Alternatively, a charter flight is available, price upon request.
Limpopo Hunting Ranch
The hunting grounds span an area of nearly 4,000 acres, featuring mostly flat terrain that makes it ideal for hunters of all experience levels. The landscape is dominated by thickets, ideal for Cape buffalo hunting, and open plains for African plains game.
Hunting Lodge
At the heart of the hunting concession, a luxurious hunting lodge is situated, catering for up to 10 guests. This picturesque lodge offers the perfect blend of rustic charm and modern elegance.
Guests will enjoy spacious bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms, gourmet kitchen facilities, and a private chef, with an outdoor campfire area and panoramic views of the breathtakingly beautiful African landscape.
Hunting Methods & Rifle Calibers
For those hunters bringing their firearms into South Africa, a SAPS 520 Import Form needs to be completed.
When hunting Cape Buffalo, a minimum of a .375 must be used. Large calibers will also do the trick, as the old saying goes, there is no such thing as too much firepower when facing a Cape Buffalo! Cape Buffalo are usually hunted by tracking and stalking, with the flat terrain of the concession being the perfect backdrop for an exciting stalk!
When hunting Sable, Kudu and Waterbuck, thirty calibers like a 30.06, or a well-placed shot from a .308, work well, while bigger calibers loaded with solids, such as a .338 or .375, are also extremely popular.
